Basic Sea Survival for Small Craft
and
MCA STCW95 Personal Survival Techniques
This Course is designed for sailors who wish to prepare
themselves in the eventuality of a 'man overboard' situation
or abandoning a vessel to a liferaft. Preventative actions
are also considered.
Theoretical awareness and practical experience is given
in preparation for sea survival, flares, lifejackets
and liferafts. A practical wet drill in liferaft launching
and exercises in a swimming pool are the ultimate experience
to convince you to step up into a liferaft! Principles
of survival in the subjects of drowning, near-drowning,
hypothermia, and conversely, heat exhaustion are discussed
and awareness heightened. Consideration to raft management
including survival craft ailments is given. For a full

It is important that students have an understand of
the UK and International Search and Rescue organisations.
This will give you a greater confidence in being rescued.
RYA ISAF Offshore Safety Course.
A 2 day Sea Survival, Seamanship and Emergencies and
First Aid course developed to provide training for skippers
and crews who encounter rough weather and problems at
sea. Day 2 follows RYA Sea Survival.
Day 2 covers damage limitation modules in jury rigging
in the event of losing mast or rudder, flooding, drogues,
sea anchors, firefighting, man overboard search and
recovery, heavy weather sailing and rapid response first
